Comparison of nitrogen assimilation components among <i>Agrostis</i> species and cultivars

چکیده

Enhanced nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) in turfgrass systems comprises several factors, including more efficient uptake and assimilation of applied (N), as well reduced N losses to the environment. The objectives current research were evaluate inter- intraspecific variation parameters two Agrostis species, creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.) velvet canina L.), under field controlled environmental conditions. Measurements included leaf NUE (g dry matter mg–1 N), content (mg g–1 matter), root nitrate reductase activity (NRA)(μmol NO2– fresh weight h–1), rate (NUR). Velvet cultivars exhibited higher therefore lower than a nutrient solution. Differences NRA only observed species field, with bentgrass. grown solution 50% NUR bentgrass, increasing decreasing NO3– supply.
